About this property

Tucked away on the outskirts of Beadlam is this characterful, single-storey cottage, Shippon. With gorgeous countryside views, open-plan layout and an excellent location for touring, the cottage welcomes two guests for a romantic holiday or solo travellers hoping to explore the beauty of North Yorkshire. Step inside and be immediately wowed by the high ceilings, exposed brickwork, and wooden beams of Shippon, as well as the bonus of underfloor heating to warm tired feet. A light-filled, open-plan living space offers high-quality amenities to prepare your favourite meals, including an electric double oven, hob, and fridge, along with a dishwasher for stress-free clean ups. Why not step outside on summer evenings and admire the sunset with a glass of wine in hand? As night falls, retire to the large bedroom with a king-size bed and convenient en-suite shower room, which is also a great place to kick-start your day with a hot and refreshing shower. The village of Nawton Beadlam hosts The Rose & Crown pub, Nawton Green Fisheries for takeaway fish and chips, and Indian restaurant, and Beadlam Grange Farmshop and Tea Room to pick up the essentials. You'll be in a prime spot for exploring North York Moors National Park with its wooded river valleys, historic ruins, and picturesque villages; start in Helmsley, just a short drive west, home to Helmsley Castle ruins with walled gardens for picnics. Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool, and the Cleveland Way walking trail starts here, a must for spectacular scenery. The market town of Pickering rests near North Riding Forest Park for varied hiking and cycling trails, but if that's not your thing, admire the views from Pickering Castle or hop on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, a lovely way to relax and watch the dramatic landscapes unfold from your window. If you're looking for more local culture and heritage, the gorgeous city of York is within easy reach to wander the City Walls. Visit the majestic York Minster, shop for curiosities along The Shambles or the bustling market, and visit Museum Gardens to sit in the sunshine among the medieval Abbey ruins. There's plenty to do and see with a stay at Shippon! This property can be booked together with property 986040 and sleep up to 4 guests.

Beadlam is a small village in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire. It is unusual due to being physically connected to another village, Nawton, and the two villages are known together as Nawton Beadlam. The village has a tavern that serves food as well as a fish and chip business. The wealthy market town of Helmsley, about 3 miles away, is historically recognised for possessing its own 12th-century castle. With the national route, Cleveland Way, commencing in Helmsley and offering spectacular views of the coast and old stone crosses, there is good walking right on your doorstep.

What a lovely place, will definitely try to return. Although in a very quite village, it suited us down to the ground. The accommodation was superb and the view out the back was lovely. Well recommended.
