Snaptrip says

Croft Granary is a well-regarded cottage in a peaceful village, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and welcoming hosts. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack and find the location ideal for exploring York and the surrounding countryside. The cottage's facilities generally meet expectations, though some updates are suggested.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests report the cottage as clean and well-maintained. However, one review mentioned sub-standard cleanliness due to management issues, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions, ease of access to York, and the beauty of the surrounding countryside. The presence of local amenities within walking distance also contributes to a high score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a homely atmosphere. A few concerns about privacy and the en-suite facilities prevent a perfect score.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen. Criticisms include outdated listing photos, lack of Wi-Fi, and some maintenance issues. These factors lead to a good but not excellent score.

Hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, particularly for providing welcome packs with essentials like milk, eggs, and biscuits. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Easy access to the major places, about 20-30 mins outside of York. There’s a few comments about the shower in the bedroom, wasn’t an issue at all for us, but just to clarify, there’s a shower in the main bedroom and a family bathroom with a bath. Chickens and sheep at the bottom of the garden, couldn’t fault the place at all.

Enjoyed stay, close to just about everywhere.

  • Robert

Appreciated the little touches such as the fresh eggs from the hens. An ideal base to explore York and North Yorkshire.
