The cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, with guests consistently noting the clean environment and lovely bedding. One review specifically mentions the property being very clean, contributing to a positive experience.

The location is highly appreciated for its beauty and convenience for walking, with many guests enjoying the spectacular views and direct access to local walks. The rural retreat aspect is also a highlight, although one guest noted the remoteness in relation to shops.

Comfort is generally well-received, with guests mentioning good night's sleep and a cosy setting. However, there are comments about some furniture being uncomfortable and the cottage being cold at times, which suggests room for improvement.

Facilities are deemed adequate by most, with a well-equipped kitchen and the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. However, some guests have suggested improvements such as better heating and secure fencing for pets, indicating that maintenance could be enhanced.

The owner's thoughtfulness is evident through proactive communication and welcoming gestures, such as checking in with guests and providing a bottle of wine. While these personal touches are appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are kindly offered at the owner's discretion and may not be a standard inclusion for all stays.

Reeth, which is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with attractive rolling hills and breathtaking views, has a colourful past since it was first settled by the Saxons and has since been recognised as a lead mining town and a centre for hand knitting. The Swaledale Museum, which is situated close to a wide variety of stores, tea cafes, and restaurants, proudly displays both trades. It is in a beautiful location. Kate the owner was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed with 2 young puppies, a St Bernard and labrador (Yogi and Molly), the cottage was very suitable as it had a track immediately outside the front gate with lovely walks. We will be booking again. Michelle and Alan, Yogi and Molly.
