Heapfield Cottage receives high praise for its comfort, warm welcomes, and tranquil setting. Guests enjoy the wildlife, cosy interiors, and thoughtful touches like welcome baskets. While one review mentions a negative experience regarding pet-friendliness and Wi-Fi, the majority reflect a delightful stay with friendly hosts.
Reviews consistently mention the cottage being very clean, with only one guest feeling the need to wash some kitchen items before use. The high level of cleanliness contributes to the overall comfort and appeal of the cottage.
The location is frequently described as quiet, peaceful, and convenient for exploring local areas, with a train station nearby. The rural setting with farm animals and wildlife is appreciated, although one review mentions the farmyard being mucky.
Guests find the cottage cosy, warm, and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed mentioned. The tranquil environment and the presence of wildlife add to the comfort of the stay.
Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-equipped cottage and a welcome pack. However, there are a few negative comments about Wi-Fi connectivity and hot water, which suggest some room for improvement.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome baskets with treats like fresh eggs and homemade fudge. While these gifts are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.
An attractive, traditional, semi-detached cottage, on the owners' working cattle farm on the edge of open countryside, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Nafferton, amid the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds. This cosy Yorkshire cottage offers simple, comfortable accommodation with an open plan living area, views over open countryside and a sheltered, lawned garden, ideal for relaxing. Nature lovers will enjoy the variety of wildlife and birds to be seen, and the owners liaise with the RSPB and Yorkshire Wildlife to ensure that natural habitats are provided, and the traditional farming methods ensure that ground nesting birds are encouraged to breed. Visitors are invited to help themselves to the fruiting trees on the campsite and herbs from the herb trough all year round. Local amenities are within easy reach, including a village shop, fish and chips and a choice of four country pubs, while the property is ideally situated for walking or enjoying the cycle routes in the area.
