Snaptrip says

Guests consistently praise The Wheelhouse for its welcoming host, Carole, who provides thoughtful touches such as homemade cake and fresh eggs. The cottage's rural charm and direct access to walking routes are highly valued, with many appreciating the cosy and snug atmosphere despite its proximity to a railway line. The property's suitability for walkers and its peaceful setting make it a recommended retreat for those looking to explore the Shropshire Hills.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with only a few isolated reports of cleanliness issues. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, as most reviews reflect a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is frequently praised for its beauty and convenience for walkers, with easy access to local attractions and walking routes. The proximity to a railway line is noted, but most guests report that it does not detract significantly from the rural appeal.

Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a snug and homely feel. There are some comments about low ceilings and the property being dark inside, which could affect the comfort level for taller individuals or those preferring more natural light.

While guests mention the provision of essentials and the utility room, there is insufficient detail in the reviews to comprehensively assess the state of facilities and maintenance. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately provided.

The host's thoughtfulness is highly commended, with numerous mentions of welcoming gifts such as cake and eggs. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely host who welcomed us with homemade cake and eggs from her own chickens, plus 6 more to take home. Would highly recommend.

Carding Mill Valley is only a short drive. The use of the paddock for exercising dogs is perfect. Kitchen is well equipped and the frying pan was excellent!! The Internet can be slow and drop out but this was stated in the information before booking. The TV has a built in dvd player so a good option would be to take dvds. The host is very friendly and left eggs from her hens and a lovely home made cake. The only issue was the the pillows. The were old and stained with no protectors on.
