Goldings is a well-regarded holiday cottage in Somerset, praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and the thoughtfulness of the host. Guests have enjoyed the welcoming touches such as cake on arrival, and the property's proximity to Wells and local attractions. While some guests suggest updates and Wi-Fi installation, the overall sentiment is positive, with many appreciating the comfortable and homely atmosphere.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found Goldings to be spotlessly clean, with several reviews highlighting the cleanliness as a positive aspect. However, a few guests mentioned areas that could be improved, suggesting a need for a deeper clean in some instances.

The location of Goldings is frequently praised for being quiet, peaceful, and within walking distance to Wells city centre. Its proximity to local shops, restaurants, and attractions like Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury makes it an ideal base for exploring Somerset.

Guests generally found the bungalow to be comfortable, cosy, and well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Some reviews, however, mentioned that certain aspects, such as the mattresses and seating, could benefit from an update to enhance comfort.

Facilities at Goldings are appreciated, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. Criticisms include the need for Wi-Fi, modernisation of appliances, and clearer instructions for operating them. The presence of a smart TV and the secure key system were positively noted.

The host's thoughtfulness is a standout feature, with many guests delighted by the welcoming gestures such as cake, tea, and coffee on arrival. While these personal touches are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such gifts are offered at the host's discretion and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Near to the City Centre and within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc or even quicker in the car with plenty of parking nr to the City Centre at the local supermarket. The owner left us a nice chocolate cake, tea and coffee on the table and fresh milk in the fridge for our first brew. ( Thank you ). Goldings benefitted from a nice large garden, plenty of room for our dog to exercise himself. Very cosy lounge area with Wi Fi connections and smart TV. Plenty of hot water on tap for all guests to enjoy a bath. As explained by the owner in their welcome notes, the heating was a bit temperamental due to a faulty thermostat, in the hallway, we could not increase the room temperature, this left it a bit chilly in the evenings. Our only critic would be that the mattresses in the front bedroom do need replacing and are past their best. On the whole Goldings was very homely and great value for the money,

It is homely, clean, warm & comfortable with a secure garden. A short walk into the centre of Wells. The owner is friendly, helpful, easy to contact & provides a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk & a cake. Tesco & Morrisons supermarkets are within walking distance or a short drive. I would be happy to stay again in the future.

Good communication with owner. Within walking distance of Wells which was good. Would book this bungalow again in the future. Secure garden for small dog which was important.
