A delightful detached, single-storey barn conversion cottage, located adjacent to the owner’s farmhouse on a working sheep and cattle farm in a rural location amidst the glorious West Dorset countryside. Situated near the villages of Chedington and South Perrott and close to the border with East Somerset, this West Dorset cottage offers small family groups or couples an enjoyable rural retreat in a lovely Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Well-presented and comfortably furnished throughout, this West Dorset cottage features two good-sized bedrooms, the double having doors opening out onto the patio area, whilst the sitting room boasts a warming woodburning stove, a cosy place to snuggle up on a cool evening. We enjoyed our comfortable stay in bright, spacious accommodation, much bigger than the photos suggest. The owner, Julian, was hospitable and helpful in every way without being intrusive and offered to show us around the farm, introducing us townies to Mary the pig, and Dolly and Kylie, the adorable donkeys. We loved our stay and couldn't recommend it highly enough. We're already booking a return visit to The Barn.

We stay in a lot of AirBNB/Sykes type places (we have an additional 3 different properties just in this two week trip alone) and the Barn was exactly what we needed. Clean, warm, uncluttered - but with everything we needed. Your attention and hospitality was excellent. Thank you so much for the additional bedding, and again - if I owe you anything for the broken glass, please let me know.

( It seems much bigger inside than outside.). The Barn was always warm without having to mess with any settings on the heating. If you want it hot then the log burner threw out loads of heat. The beds were comfortable and we didn't have any issues with the farm animals. We found the Barn to be a good location for us to get to the places that we wanted to go to in Dorset and Somerset. Julian, the owner is both friendly and helpful. So you can't ask for more (except for a pair of scissors - Julian) - that's the reminder that you asked for!
