About this property

Offering a delightful base for an escape for two in Devon, Cuttrye Old Dairy is a picture-perfect property located near East Allington, on the outskirts of Kingsbridge. This annexe cottage, next to the owner's home, is decorated in a chocolate-box traditional style, offering a homely aura to return to after each day of adventure with your loved one, within reach of plenty of attractions and places of interest too. Step inside and feel the warm welcome of an open-plan living space, boasting classic cottage decor and an ornate Jotul woodburning stove taking centre stage, surrounded by plush seating to relax on, with a TV and DVD player too. Wind down here while the fire crackles, before beginning to prepare a meal for two in the timber-fitted kitchen, with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with a freezer compartment at hand, you can serve up a romantic dish at the quaint dining area, beneath the exposed beams above. Carry the conversation outside to your lawned garden area, making use of the gas barbecue in summer for some idyllic afternoons, or enjoy an evening drink in the pretty courtyard, shared with the owners, which is a real suntrap. Retire to the pretty bedroom, adorned with floral flourishes in the decor and a bright outlook, you can catch up on your rest in the king-size bed to prepare for more adventures the next day. Feel refreshed after a rinse in the newly installed large shower cubicle in the spacious bathroom. Head into Kingsbridge for any necessities, or choose to enjoy a great pub dinner at The Old Inn in Halwell, or The New Inn in neighbouring Moreleigh. With the South Devon AONB cradling the River Avon either side from Avonwick all the way down to Bantham, there are plenty of miles to be enjoyed along the meandering waters, offering a chance to spot wildlife, capture peaceful waterside scenery and visit delightful villages along the way or venture deeper into the Dartmoor National Park where more amazing walking and cycling country awaits, visit Avon Dam Reservoir for a scenic stroll around this impressive feat of engineering. Less than ten miles away are the beautiful shores of Blackpool Sands, a popular spot and a Blue Flag awarded beach, this sheltered shingle bay is great for swimming and has a café right on the beachfront. Enjoy the delights of Dartmouth, a bustling hub of activity on the River Dart, with attractions including Dartmouth Castle, Bayard's Cove Fort, the Royal Avenue Gardens, Dartmouth Museum, and ferries over to the pretty village opposite of Kingswear. Spend quality time in the idyllic scenery of Devon with your loved one at Cuttrye Old Dairy.

The lovely little village of East Allington lies in the South Hams district of South Devon.
