Snaptrip says

The Stone Barn Cottage in Devon is highly praised for its comfort, stunning location, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, beautiful garden views, and the convenience of having a bathroom for each bedroom. The local area offers lovely walks and a friendly community, with the added bonus of a superb pub nearby. The hosts are commended for their hospitality and the cottage's cleanliness, making it an ideal retreat for both relaxation and exploration.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the property as clean and well-presented. One mention of cutlery and crockery not being completely clean slightly impacts the otherwise excellent feedback.

The cottage's location is frequently highlighted as idyllic, quiet, and perfect for exploring Dartmoor and nearby towns. Its proximity to the River Dart and local amenities adds to its charm.

Reviewers find the cottage comfortable, with cosy sofas, comfortable beds, and a warm atmosphere enhanced by features like a log burner and underfloor heating.

The property is well-equipped with modern appliances, ample parking, and an enclosed garden. The mention of tight space for six people and a temporary issue with electricity due to storms slightly affects the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through their warm welcome and provision of eggs, although it is politely noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

About this property

This comfy Devon cottage is situated on the edge of the Dartmoor village of Holne. It has been converted from a barn attached to the owner's’ house and makes an ideal base for families and couples to enjoy Dartmoor and the beautiful surrounding countryside. The upside down layout means you have a lovely lofty open plan space on the top floor with wood floor, seating area with wood burning stove, dining area, kitchen and steps leading up to a door to the garden. Two of the three downstairs bedrooms enjoy an en suite, as well as the smart shower room. The enclosed garden is a peaceful spot with lawn, views over countryside and the moors and garden furniture. This is a wonderful place for the great outdoors, with excellent walks and riding stables nearby, as well as fishing for trout or salmon in the River Dart. The beaches at Torbay are just 15 miles away, and of course the wide expanses of Dartmoor with its ponies, sheep and cattle are waiting to be explored. Very comfortable and clean. Only had a very minor problem in that the crockery is hard to reach over the top of the fridge/freezer. But otherwise a beautiful cottage. Definitely one of the best we have stayed in. Thank you so much for a lovely week even the weather was good.

Highlights were; the comfortable bed; cozy evenings in front of the fire; underfloor heating in the bedrooms and best of all watching the sun rise over the moors whilst enjoying the first coffee of the day. Wonderful.
