About this property

Lighthouse View is a duplex, family-friendly apartment in a great position set above one of Cornwall’s most beautiful bays, Carbis Bay. Close to the award-winning blue flag beach, Carbis Bay and the scenic railway into St Ives, you’ll be delighted with its location. The sunny rear terrace is a great bonus for relaxing with that novel you promised yourself you would read! Sleeping three in two well-presented bedrooms, with a warming gas fire and charming décor, it's ideal for a young family or couple seeking a romantic coastal escape whatever the time of year. A large bay window lets both the open-plan sitting and dining area enjoy sea views across the bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. Relax on one of the two cushioned sofas and enjoy the entertainment with the Smart TV, or why not take refuge in the snug? This quiet rear room is secluded and hosts a built in sofa to curl up with your holiday read. The spacious dining area comfortably accommodates four people around a contemporary glass dining table; enjoy a meal with the patio and Juliette balcony doors open! Alternatively, on warmer days, dine alfresco on the sunny south facing terrace. The spacious master bedroom is on the first floor, where you can open the double French doors to a Juliette balcony with fabulous sea views, making this a bright and airy room. The well-appointed king-size bed is beautifully dressed with a throw and scatter cushions for a relaxing setting. The second bedroom is nearby with a single bed and thoughtfully appointed with a seaside theme, throws and cushions. The family bathroom is located on the first floor adjacent to the master bedroom, along with a cloakroom on the ground floor. A beautiful private terrace, accessible from the sitting area, is idyllic for alfresco dining; a table, parasol and four reclining chairs are provided, or take a glass of wine to watch the sun set over St Ives on the communal front terrace! Ideal for family-friendly holidays in Cornwall, there's plenty to do right on your doorstep; embark on the South West Costal Path for dramatic scenery or simply relax along the sheltered, Carbis Bay Beach. Carbis Bay also hosts a variety of eateries and convenience stores for your self-catering holiday, as well as West Cornwall Golf Club. Visit the picturesque village of St Ives by car or hop on the train for unforgettable views; spend a day exploring Tate St Ives, surfing the famed waves, or wandering the quirky alleys lined with curious shops. Further afield lies Penzance, a bustling seaside town with plenty for the whole family, and Marazion overlooking the historic St Michael's Mount. If you love the beach, cliffside walks or watching the ocean waves, book Lighthouse View for your next family-friendly holiday in Cornwall.

A short drive from St Ives, Carbis Bay is renowned for its stunning length of sugar-sand shoreline. Located on the north coast of the island, the beach features turquoise waters and sheltered circumstances that make it feel nearly tropical. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Center, so if sunbathing isn't your thing, why not rent a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead? The boutique hotel next door, which has a lovely patio where you can sip cocktails while taking in the view of the beach, offers spa days as an additional option. Small local businesses and eateries, such as Carbis Bay's fish & chip store and railroad branch, are all found in this seaside town. The railway ride from Carbis Bay to St. Ives, Cornwall, may be the most picturesque in the United Kingdom.

Shower screen at the bottom was very grimy and needed a good clean. Found the steps hard as we had a few mobility issues but I know this was stated in the description. Found it hard in Carbis bay too find anywhere decent too eat . Badgers in highly recommend and so was beck take away/restaurant. The Cornish arms was a big let down .general over all holiday was good . Apartment was lovely. Shame about the weather.

Instructions for tv use mentions sky tv although couldn’t find a sky receiver, not a problem for us as tv has freeview . Something that did cause a problem was the parking space, The space is an end space against a wall , 12 hours after booking I did raise my concern with Sykes who were offhand and advised that there wouldn’t be a problem . On arrival I couldn’t fit into the space , just something to consider if you have a large car maybe state dimensions. I tried parking in the cul de sac opposite but an angry resident objected so didn’t want to leave my car there . So parking was an ongoing problem for us during our stay , otherwise great and would book again if we had a smaller car .
