Snaptrip says

Brook House in Penzance, Cornwall, offers a fantastic location with stunning sea views and proximity to beautiful beaches. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness and the helpfulness of the caretaker. While some find the decor and furnishings a bit tired, the charm of the location and the overall experience have led to repeat bookings.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with guests finding it clean and tidy upon arrival. However, a few guests noted specific issues such as a smell of damp and a need for defrosting the fridge, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly praised for its outstanding sea views and proximity to beaches and walking paths. The secluded and picturesque setting is a highlight for many guests, contributing to a high score in this category.

Guests find the property warm and spacious, but several comments about uncomfortable beds and worn-out furnishings suggest room for improvement in comfort. The presence of a leak and issues with a shower also impact this score.

Facilities are adequate, with guests mentioning the presence of necessary items for a holiday stay. However, reports of maintenance issues, such as leaky windows, broken light switches, and a lack of certain kitchenware, indicate a need for attention to facilities.

There is insufficient information regarding the provision of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. While some guests mention a lack of a welcome pack, there are no consistent references to gifts to accurately assess this category.

Lovely view from upstairs lounge overlooking the bay. Spacious accommodation and very clean and comfortable beds. Very warm. Good to have two bathrooms. Kitchen sparsely equipted if preparing meals. Details should state that property not suitable for handicapped or those with mobility issues as accommodation reached by stairs either up to lounge, bedroom and bathroom or down to kitchen, bedroom.and bathroom.

The house was lovely and warm but the whole place was VERY tired. The photos online must be extremely old or photoshopped! Inside and outside all vey worn. The whole place and the other holiday lets all looked a mess. The house was clean, but as it's so worn it still looked a bit grotty. One bedroom had a huge stain on the rug which was so unnecessary, surely a new rug wouldn't cost much? When it rained hard we had water coming in above the lounge doors and we had to put towels in to stop the drips all night. You could see it's been happening a while by the state of wall disintegrating inside. The double bed was the worst I've slept in and we go away a lot. Most of the blinds were broken and you could see next door was the same. Overall a great location but very disappointing accomodation. I didn't expect that from Sykes, everywhere else we've stayed has been lovely.

The only downside was the shower screen over the bath had part of the seal missing/not in place at a couple of points although it was still functioning. Really enjoyed our stay, left feeling totally relaxed and refreshed. Thank you!
