Snaptrip says

The Stable at Lee Barton Farm offers a peaceful and tranquil retreat in Cornwall, with guests praising its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. The beautiful rural setting and proximity to beaches and Bude make it an ideal base for exploring. The welcoming owners and thoughtful touches, such as fresh milk and biscuits, add to the charm of this cottage, although some minor maintenance issues were noted.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the property as spotlessly clean, with several reviews highlighting the cleanliness of the accommodation. The provision of good quality towels and fresh white sheets also contributes to the high cleanliness standards experienced by visitors.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to beaches and the town of Bude. The rural setting on a working dairy farm adds to the charm, although some guests mention narrow access roads, which is typical for Cornwall.

The majority of guests find the beds comfortable and the property well-equipped for a relaxing stay. However, a few guests mention issues with water pressure and one instance of an uncomfortable couch, slightly affecting the comfort score.

The property is generally well-regarded for its facilities, including a well-stocked kitchen and play area for children. Some guests experienced minor issues with appliances and maintenance, such as an inconsistent shower temperature and a non-functioning upstairs toilet, which impacts the score.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful gestures, such as the provision of tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits upon arrival. While these gifts are warmly received, it is politely noted that such offerings are not guaranteed and may vary.

About this property

The Stable, once part of the original farmhouse at Lee Barton Farm is a pretty ivy clad, stone building and offers lovely long views of the surrounding countryside and is just 5.5 miles from the Centre of Bude. Step inside to a comfortable sitting room with relaxing sofas, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen to prepare family meals. There are two bedrooms; a double and twin room, which share a family bathroom. The cottage opens onto a large lawned garden ideal for relaxing at the end of a long day exploring this popular area. Great for families or friends looking for a quiet peaceful holiday, yet close to the beach.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.

Very quiet. Cottage very well equipped, plenty of hot water, heating if we needed it, bed comfortable, we slept well. Owners on hand for any problems, but we didn’t have any!! Only a couple of miles from A39 so very easy to get up and down the coast. Would definitely recommend.

We, plus dog, stay at Lee Barton 'Stables' cottage often and really enjoy the experience. The owners are very friendly and approachable. The cottage is perfectly located to many sites worth visiting in Bude and beyond, and is literally 5 mins from beach. The cottage itself is comfortable and well laid out. The whole experience is great value fir money too; will be coming again!
