Snaptrip says

Hare House is a well-located and comfortable cottage in Chipping Norton, appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and the town centre. Guests have praised the property's tasteful decor, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. While some guests mentioned minor maintenance issues and limited outdoor space, the overall experience is seen as positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property generally maintains good cleanliness, though some guests noted dust and the presence of rubbish under furniture. The occasional mention of sticky floors and grubby areas suggests room for improvement, but these instances seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as being a suitable base for exploring the Cotswolds. Parking can be challenging but is manageable, and the central position is a significant advantage for guests.

Guests find the beds exceptionally comfortable and the living spaces cosy, particularly with the log burner. However, some guests feel that the property can be cramped for six people and the kitchen chairs uncomfortable, slightly detracting from the overall comfort.

The property is well-equipped, with a particularly well-stocked kitchen. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as broken blinds, cracked tiles, and the absence of certain expected items like microwaves and cafetieres. The need for updates and minor repairs is noted.

The welcome gifts are a delightful touch and have been well received by guests, contributing to a positive impression upon arrival. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Hare House is a truly neat-as-a-pin town house as one could wish for. Set across three floors and stylishly updated for families and small groups, this gem of a holiday home is the perfect spot to make the most of Chipping Norton. Located a few moments from the market square, this gorgeous home has a lovely, cosy feel to it warm and welcoming with colour and style that makes it feel like it's fresh from the pages of a magazine! The owners clearly have a good eye for style, yet have kept it simple and restful and nicely uncluttered. The flare also comes to life with the little pictures of rabbits and hares you will come across. Inside, there is a spacious living room with wood burner, a compact but well equipped kitchen for your inner Nigella... whilst upstairs are three large bedrooms and two luxury bathrooms, all large and airy and with plenty of space to spread out and relax. Outside is a small gravelled terrace area, but to be honest you are just as likely to pop up the street to one of the local cool cafes to save on your washing up!! We really like Hare House and love its 'feel'.

The ancient town of Chipping Norton, steeped in history and culture, is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the shadow of the Rollright Hills in this unspoilt area of Oxfordshire. Blenheim Palace, Rousham House and Gardens and numerous National Trust properties are close by, and a little further afield Stratford Upon Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the magnificent university town of Oxford are a real delight.

The location was excellent, just minutes away from Sainsbury's supermarket and restaurants, making it convenient for our daily needs. The well-stocked kitchen was a highlight, and the thoughtful welcome gift of biscuits and milk added a nice touch to our arrival. However, there were some issues that detracted from our experience. Firstly, the incorrect Wifi network name in the manual caused initial confusion. Additionally, parking instructions need improvement. Although there are only four parking spaces opposite the house, we found that the free car park nearby only allowed parking for 12 hours per day, which was inconvenient for overnight parking. Fortunately, we discovered that Dunstan Avenue allowed unrestricted parking, and we utilized the available space there. Inside the house, we encountered a few inconveniences. The iron was difficult to locate and stored separately from the ironing board, which was unexpected. The creaking floorboards, particularly on the top floor, created a noisy environment for those below. The small kitchen and uncomfortable wooden chairs were less than ideal for extended periods of use. Additionally, the low ceilings and narrow, steep staircase posed hazards, and we found ourselves hitting our heads and tripping on small steps multiple times.

It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We had expected some basic supplies such as milk, tea bags (there were a very limited number for the number of guests) and pods for the coffee machine. The house instruction book needs some updating, the wifi code was wrong and the thermostat has changed so we couldn’t work out how to use the heating. We would definitely stay again, it was brilliantly located and equipped and very easy with a dog.

The welcome gifts were very much appreciated and we had a fab week as it was very near to the care home we had booked for my mother. Plenty of pots and pans although couldn't find a cheese grater
