We found the cottage to be immaculately clean, bed made up in arrival and plenty of fresh towels. A little footstool in front of the sofa would be a fabulous idea, especially for cosy evenings in front of the fire! The Taverners Inn in nearby Godshill is friendly and serves local drinks and amazing food. We happened to eat on quiz night and joined in with the locals! We also recommend the nearby Donkey Sanctuary for a breakfast visit, delicious bacon rolls served from 10am (cafe and grounds dog friendly) Overall, a beautiful base to explore the Isle of Wight and we’re already looking at dates to re visit!

Having the wood burner was a bonus, though the property was adequately heated without it. The grounds were absolutely glorious and perfect for walking our dog Billy. The location is very quiet and peaceful without being isolated. There was plenty to do on the island and we found the people friendly. The nearby IOW Donkey Sanctuary was so impressive and on our second visit we adopted a donkey. Other favourite destinations were Mottistone House and Gardens and the Newtown Nature Reserve. We hope to make a return visit one day. Thanks to the owners for the welcome gifts.
