The Maltings is an ideal and characterful hideaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and makes the perfect romantic stay for dog owners, walkers, cyclists, and those looking to holiday alone in the tranquillity of a quintessential Norfolk village. Previously voted one of the top 30 cosiest cottages in England by The Times newspaper, The Maltings has been thoughtfully furnished to exude comfort and relaxation all year round. The open plan living environment on the ground floor feels modern whilst maintaining rustic charm. Comfortable leathers sofas in the sitting area are set in front of a wood burning stove that emits extra warmth and ambient light when needed. Well-equipped for catering at home, the kitchen boasts modern appliances and plenty of worktop space. The adjacent dining area is the perfect setting for sharing a romantic meal, or planning the day ahead over a morning cup of coffee. To the rear of the property, the light and bright stylish bathroom features a deep free standing bath, with rainfall shower over. Upstairs, on the mezzanine first floor, the inviting bedroom hosts a king-size bed set under the exposed beams of the vaulted ceiling. Outside, the patio area is a great spot for a barbecue, with outdoor seating provided. Being fully enclosed, this is a safe space for supervised dogs to roam. Off-road parking for two cars is available on the gravel driveway outside the property.

Within a 10-minute walk of The Maltings is the local pub The Crown, which serves real ale and good food, as well as newspapers and other essential supplies. The coastal resort of Cromer can be reached in approximately 15-minutes by car, with the nearest beach at Mundesley a mere 7-minutes away. Food-lovers are surrounded by excellent dining opportunities, with the outstanding The Gunton Arms in neighbouring Thorpe Market, and The Suffield Arms and The Vernon Arms both approximately five-minutes away by car. Cyclists can take advantage of numerous quiet lanes around the village, as can keen walkers, who may also enjoy walking to one of the fabulous aforementioned pubs. Golfers can tee off at Mundesley Golf Club, with its countryside views, or at the 18 hole Royal Cromer Golf Course located by the side of the sea, or Sheringham Golf Club.

The cottage was well-furnished, comfortable and had everything that might be needed. It is well placed for visiting local attractions and there are plenty of pubs nearby including one within walking distance. The welcome basket contained good quality items.

Fantastic place and we loved the welcome hamper.

The Maltings was somewhere you instantly felt at home. Full of character and tastefully furnished with all the equipment needed for enjoyable meals in as I enjoy cooking. The hamper of local treats was most welcome and we slept like logs in the comfy bed. Best of all was the location. Our dog loved the circular walk around Trunch each morning but also enjoyed the stunning beaches nearby and walk options at Bacton woods. Highlight of our trip was the seals at Horsey point. We WILL be back.
