I emailed Sykes informing them of this and also the handle on the toaster didn't stay down, you had to hold it. I never received a reply. I was glad that there were only two of us staying in the lodge, I think it would have been far too cramped with four people. Having stayed at Fir Tree lodge I don't agree with the many reviews raving about the place, I think it could do with an upgrade. The outside definately needed the decking power washing and the table and chairs at the side of the property had not been cleaned for some time. We were fortunate with good weather and I wanted to sit outside but I was not going to tackle cleaning the table. I have stayed in quite a few of Sykes properties and have always been more than satisfied, but after this holiday it has made me very wary if I can trust the reviews for future properties.

Could not fault it. Private. Fantastic hot tub! Lodge was clean, warm and everything that we could have wanted and more! Definitely home from home. Thank you for the lovely bottle of wine too!

  • Sarah

The wine on arrival was a nice little touch and the lodge had everything we could have wanted and needed. The place was very clean, comfortable, and cosy. The hot tub was a big hit and the decking area was very safe for our dog. We will hopefully be returning soon.
