About this property

Resting in the idyllic Cotswold village of Frampton Mansell, Gloucestershire, is this inviting conversion, The Cow Shed. Enjoying a private setting with a large garden and easy access to the towns of Stroud and Cirencester, The Cow Shed is a great choice for couples looking to escape to the Cotswolds. Internally, the abode features an open-plan living space, equipped with a well-appointed kitchen housing an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and even a washing machine, so you can keep on top of your laundry. Spend your down time on the sofa, catching up on your favourite series on the Smart TV, or step out into the front garden, where you can get the barbecue going and relax in these idyllic surroundings. As you call it a day, head to the shower room for a freshen up before retreating to the double bedroom. There are 15 acres of paddocks which can be roamed, whilst there are several idyllic walks along the old canal path. Just a short walk away is the Crown Inn pub, where you can enjoy your favourite tipple in the beer garden, whilst there are two excellent shops nearby, the Jolly Nice Farm shop, offering a butchery, fish counter and a wide range of local produce, whilst in neighbouring Oakridge Lynch sits Ollie’s shop, selling a range of fantastic Spanish produce; a walk away will take you to The Bell at Sapperton, a traditional countryside pub. If you’re seeking further amenities, the market town of Stroud is seven miles away and is brimming with independent shops, cafés and galleries and home to one of the best Farmers’ Markets in the country. Plan a day out to the lovely market town of Cirencester, or venture deeper into the Cotswolds and see the chocolate box villages of Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. Escape to the Cotswolds with a stay at The Cow Shed.

The little village of Oakridge Lynch sits on the edge of the Cotswolds, overlooking the idyllic Golden Valley. The village is home to the well-stocked Ollie’s Shop, providing a selection of an award-winning goods imported from Spain, including cheese, wine, olive oil and ham, whilst there is also an 18th century pub, The Butchers Arms, serving an eclectic menu and selection of ales. The nearby market town of Stroud is well worth a visit, boasting a range of shops, eateries and former textile mills along the valleys, whilst Cirencester is famed for its stunning church and Roman Museum. The valley is home to the magnificent 12 span viaduct which carries the great Western Railway from Gloucester to London and was opened in 1845.

Recently been developed to a high standard, with a book in the property detailing the renovation. Well equipped and even had supply of shower gel, hand wash and moisturiser! Would highly recommend.

Pretty much everything was thought of for us. The milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar were very thoughtful and welcomed. Our only slight niggle was that the hot water didn’t stay hot for long enough, even after a 2 hour boost. All in all, it was lovely! Lots of books available to read and some puzzles to do too. The Cow Shed was located in a lovely setting with lots of beautiful walks right on your doorstep!
